Christine Adelhardt

Christine Adelhardt (* 1964 in Erlangen ) is a German journalist. From 2010 to 2015 she was an ARD television correspondent in Beijing .

Life

Christine Adelhardt studied politics, history and economics. After her studies, she worked as a reporter for Bayerischer Rundfunk . In 2001 she switched to Norddeutscher Rundfunk . Adelhardt reported for ARD from Kosovo , Bosnia, Albania and Pakistan, among others . After stints at the NDR program “Panorama” and at the ARD studio in Washington, she took over the office in Beijing as studio manager in July 2010.

In January 2013, she and a team of three German ARD journalists and two Chinese colleagues were attacked by thugs in Hebei province. The reporters shot pictures in Da Yan Ge Zhuang Village for a report on urbanization . They were then attacked by strangers in the rich suburb. The attackers chased the ARD car and demolished it with baseball bats. After the violent attack on the German television team, the envoy from the Chinese embassy was summoned to the Federal Foreign Office.
