Christine Kopp (born January 15, 1967 in Bern ) is a Swiss author , mountaineer , alpine journalist and translator .

Life

Christine Kopp grew up in Bern . After completing her high school diploma and language studies in Italy, she acquired a diploma as a translator for French, Italian and English at the Zurich School of Interpreters and Translators.

Since 1991 she has been working as a freelance translator, author, editor, journalist and film writer specializing in alpinism and tourism. She has translated books by Riccardo Cassin , Walter Bonatti and Erhard Loretan into German, among others .

From 1994 to 2007 she was editor of the Alpinismus pages of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung . She realized various film and book projects with mountaineers Thomas Ulrich and Stephan Siegrist and cameraman Christoph Frutiger. She is an active mountaineer (sport and ice climbing, mountaineering and ski touring, trekking) and has participated in several expeditions, including a. to Denali and Mount Blackburn in Alaska .

Christine Kopp lives in Pasturo on Lake Como and in Bern.
