Christine Lapp

Christine Lapp (born December 14, 1962 in Vienna ) is an SPÖ politician and former member of the National Council . Lapp lives in a community and is the mother of two sons.

Life

Lapp joined the SPÖ in 1983 and soon became chairwoman of the party's youth organization in Simmering. Since 1993 she has also been the deputy chairwoman of the SPÖ. From 1991 to 2001 she was a councilor and member of the state parliament in Vienna with a focus on children, youth and social affairs. From 1995 to 2001 she was also chairwoman of the youth and social committee in Vienna. From 2001 to 2013 Lapp was a member of the Austrian National Council and from 2002 to 2008 she was the disability spokeswoman for the SPÖ parliamentary club, and from 2008 to 2013 she took on the role of the Court of Auditors. In addition to control issues, her focus is on social issues, care and support. Since 2007 she has been President of the Vienna Social Services, a Viennese supporting organization for elderly and care services. In addition, since May 2009 she has been a member of the national board of the Arbeiter Samariter Bund and a board member of the BIWAK-Kinderwohngemeinschaft Laaerberg association.
