Christine Richter (journalist)

Christine Richter (* 1964 ) is a German journalist . She has been editor-in-chief of the Berliner Morgenpost since 2018 .

Career

Richter studied journalism , political science and history from 1983 to 1985 at the University of Mainz and from 1985 to 1989 at the Free University of Berlin . In 1990, at the time of the Momper Senate , she was press spokeswoman for the Senate Administration for Science and Research. In February 1991 she moved to the Berliner Zeitung , where she stayed for almost 18 years and, among other things, acted as deputy head of local affairs and as head of state politics. In October 2008, Richter initially went to Berliner Morgenpost as head of the local editorial team and became deputy editor-in-chief in 2012. Richter has been the sole editor-in-chief of Berliner Morgenpost since June 2018 . At that time, according to Kress, Richter was the only woman at the head of a Berlin newspaper and the only woman at the head of a Funke Mediengruppe newspaper .
