Christine Swientek

Christine Swientek (* 1943 ) is a German educator, criminologist and university teacher. Her main areas of work are adoption (search), baby hatches and anonymous births and newborn killing .

Life

Christine Swientek studied psychiatry , social work and child and adolescent psychiatry in Kiel and then worked for several years as a social worker, among other things in the field of adoption placement. She then completed a further degree in educational sciences , psychology and sociology at the University of Hanover with a focus on pedagogy for behavioral disorders.

After working in prison (1976/77), she received her doctorate ( Dr. phil. ) In 1980 at the University of Hildesheim Foundation with the dissertation Autoaggressiveness in prisoners from an educational point of view . 1986 habilitation them at the University of Hanover about donating mothers in the adoption process .

Until her retirement, she taught as an adjunct professor at the Institute for Special Education at the University of Hanover . Swientek did research on neonaticide , adoption, suicide and social policy. She became known to a wider public as a vehement critic of the establishment of baby hatches. Swientek lives in Wölpinghausen .
