The Christian Pathfinder Association of Germany eV (CPD) is an Evangelical Boy Scout Association founded in 1976 , which, after the merger of the Christian Boy Scouts of Germany , Evangelical Girl Scout Association and the Association of Christian Girl Scouts, became the Association of Christian Pathfinders (VCP) out of dissatisfaction with the development formed in the VCP. This (conservative) movement then formed a new league, which relies largely on the traditions of the historical CPD - other currents and part of the opponents of modernization decided to remain within the VCP.

The CPD now has around 4,200 members and is organized on a voluntary basis. The basis of the work of the CPD is the Christian faith, its forms of work come from the scouting and are in the tradition of the German youth movement. The CPD is part of the Protestant youth and its individual branches are actively involved in the local parishes . Since 2003 the CPD has been a member of the Working Group of Evangelical Youth in Germany (aej).

On the final day of the German Evangelical Church Congress 2007 , Christian girl scouts sing and make music near Cologne Cathedral .

The differences and conflicts that led to the founding of the CPD in 1976 led to further splits in 1982. This is how the CP Bremen came into being as a regional scout association in Bremen and the Christian Scouting Society 1921 (CP 21), which in the chosen name refers to the Neudietendorfer principles of 1921, the working basis of the historical CP.

CPD or CPD and CP 21 were organized between 1977 and 1995 together with the German Scout Association (DPV) and the Catholic Scout Association of Europe (KPE) in the German Scout Ring (DPR) .

The ideological differences lost their importance over time, however, and so from 1992 these three CP fractions came closer together, which in 1995 initially led to the unification of CP Bremen and CPD. In 1996 CP 21 and CPD merged.

The focus of the activities is an experience-oriented conveyance of faith, life in a committed community, the adventure on the journey and camp as well as the federal courtyard in Birkenfelde .
