Christoph Friedrich I. von Degenfeld (* between 1655 and 1660 at Neuhaus Castle ; † March 28, 1705 in Durlach ) was the landlord of Neuhaus , on the Eulenhof and in the Württemberg half of Ehrstädt . He last held the position of head stable master at the Baden-Durlach court.

Life

He was the oldest son of Johann Christoph II. Von Degenfeld († 1680) and Veronica Benigna von Dachenhausen.

After the death of his father, he applied for confirmation of the fiefdoms inherited from his father for himself and his younger brothers Eberhard Friedrich and Ferdinand Friedrich I. In January 1682 Christoph Friedrich and Ferdinand Friedrich shared the inheritance, whereby Eberhard Friedrich is no longer mentioned, so that he obviously also died shortly after his father. Christoph Friedrich received Neuhaus Castle, the Eulenhof and the Württemberg half of Ehrstädt. Ferdinand Friedrich received the Worms half from Ehrstädt as well as the Degenfeldschen allodial goods in Waibstadt and Unterbiegelhof, whereby at the same time a family entourage was concluded on the property.

In 1688 Christoph Friedrich was a cuirassier lieutenant in the imperial troops, later he was Rittmeister and then lieutenant colonel with the Hereditary Prince of Württemberg. In the Palatinate War of Succession he served in the Baden-Durlach army. Most recently he was head stable master at Baden-Durlachschen Hof.

He died on March 28, 1705 in Durlach and was buried in the city church of Durlach .

After Christoph Friedrich's death, his brother Ferdinand Friedrich I, as the senior of the family, negotiated an inheritance distribution between Christoph Friedrich's sons Johann Friedrich I, August Maximilian and Johann Albrecht. After a few years of good living, the sons got into an argument with their uncle. Even among his descendants, dispute broke out over the property. The last living male descendant of Christoph Friedrich I was his son Johann Friedrich I (1683–1760). After his death, Ferdinand Friedrich's son Christoph Ferdinand I (1699–1766) reunited the entire property of Degenfeld-Neuhaus from 1760 onwards.
