Christoph Knorr

Johann Christoph Knorr (incorrectly also Christian Knorr ) (* 1792 ; † 1867 ) was a merchant and from 1833 to 1837 mayor of the then Bavarian city of Zweibrücken .

Life

From 1830 the merchant Knorr worked as a chicory manufacturer and brought his coffee substitute to the market under the brand name “Rotkäppchen”.

Knorr was married to Carolina Weigel, who died before 1858. The following children were born from this marriage:
