Christoph Mauz (* 1971 in Vienna ; real name Hubert Christoph Hladej ) is an Austrian author.

Life

After graduating from high school, Mauz did an apprenticeship in bookselling and worked as a sales manager for a publishing house. He took acting classes and trained as a speaker. Since 2004 he has been working as a freelance writer, speaker and actor. Mauz is married and lives in Vienna and Krems an der Donau .

In 1999 he received an entry in the list of honor for the Austrian Children's Book Prize. In 2000, a non-fiction book prize followed at the City of Vienna Children's Book Prize and the Austrian Children's Book Prize . In 2001 Mauz received an entry in the honor list for the children's book prize of the city of Vienna. In 2006 he was honored with the Lesetopia author award of the city of Wels.

Mauz mainly writes humorous children's books. From 1998 to 2009 he published 18 books, 3 CDs and contributions to non-fiction and anthologies . In December 2006 his children's musical “Not with me, Mr. Vampire!” Was premiered in the Raimund Theater in Vienna . In addition to working as a children's book author, Mauz writes texts for theater and cabaret, song texts and he writes dialect poetry.
