Christoph Metzger

Christoph Metzger (* 1962 in Munich ) is a German music and art scholar whose research focuses on rooms designed according to acoustic aspects. His theoretical and curatorial contributions are based in the field of sound art . It combines questions of a multisensory perception of humans with the offers of architecture ("neuro-architecture").

From 1994 to 2019, Metzger was an academic lecturer in the fields of musicology, architectural theory and art history at the Technical University of Berlin, the BTU Cottbus, the University of Applied Sciences in Biberach an der Riss and most recently professor for "Art studies with a focus on the history and theory of sound art" at the University of Fine Arts in Braunschweig .

His interventionist architecture project, Klangkunstforum Potsdamer Platz in Berlin , won the 2001 AICA Award from the International Association of Art Critics and the CEREC Award from Financial Times Europa.

As a founding member and board member of Open Mainded Projektentwicklung AG in Frankfurt am Main (2013), Metzger is the CMO responsible for branding and marketing for age-appropriate living under neuroscientific aspects.
