Christoph Noetzel (* 1950 in Salzwedel ) is a German church musician and composer .

life and work

Christoph Noetzel initially trained as a carpenter and then from 1968 to 1971 as an organ builder at the Schuke organ workshop in Potsdam. From 1971 to 1975 he studied church music in Halle. From 1975 to 1992 Noetzel worked as a church musician and organ keeper in Arendsee (Altmark). From 1992 to 2002 he was a consultant for children and youth music at the Office for Children and Youth Work of the Church Province of Saxony. He has been the district cantor in the Merseburg parish since 2002 and lives in Bad Dürrenberg. In 2000 the ecclesiastical province of Saxony appointed him chairman of the regional church organ advisory board. Since 1993 he has been teaching organ at the Evangelical College for Church Music in Halle / Saale.

Noetzel is the composer of many new sacred songs . He is a member of the lyricists and composers group TAKT .
