Christoph Pinezich

Christoph Pinezich (* 1959 / 1960 ) is an Austrian basketball coach and former players.

Life

Pinezich played for UBC Mattersburg in the Bundesliga and European Cup as well as for UKJ Tyrolia. He later worked as a coach in Mattersburg and led the team in 1993 to win the championship title in the B-League. He was sporting director in Mattersburg for 17 years and also worked as a trainer in the youth field and from 1997 to 2003 he was the assistant trainer of the Bundesliga team. From 2009 to 2011 he looked after the women of the Flying Foxes Post SV Wien as head coach and won the Austrian championship twice as well as the cup competition with them. His daughter Annika was one of his players in Vienna. In the 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons he was recognized by the specialist portal eurobasket.com as coach of the year in the top Austrian division. In 2011, under his leadership, the Viennese made it into the last four of the CEWL European Cup.

At the beginning of December 2013 he took over the coaching position at the men's Bundesliga club Arkadia Traiskirchen and held it until the end of January 2014. One of his players in Traiskirchen was the future NBA professional Jakob Pöltl .

His son Markus was also a Bundesliga player and became a coach like his father.
