Tammy Blanchard (born December 14, 1976 in Bayonne , New Jersey ) is an American actress . She gained fame primarily through the portrayal of the young Judy Garland from the miniseries Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows , for which she was awarded an Emmy in 2001 .

life and career

Tammy Blanchard comes from the US state New Jersey. She gained her first acting experience while at school, including participating in a performance of the Wizard of Oz at her high school .

Her first role in front of the camera was in 1998 as Drew Jacobs in the Sopa Springfield Story . She played the role altogether until 2000, during which time she developed into a main character. She then played a young Judy Garland in the four-part miniseries Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows . Her portrayal earned her a lot of critical acclaim. She has also received nominations for major television awards, including the Golden Globe Award . At the 2001 Emmy Awards , she was named Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or TV Movie for Performance . In 2002 she played a supporting role in the drama Heavy Boys . Parallel to her first appearances in front of the camera, she was on the theater stage from the beginning of her career. In 2003 she appeared on Broadway in the role of Gypsy Rose Lee in the musical Gypsy , for which she was nominated for a Tony Award .

In 2006 she played a leading role as Nina in the film Bella . She also starred alongside Matt Damon in the thriller The Good Shepherd . In 2008 she took on the role of Isabelle Allen in the musical film Cadillac Records . In 2009 soe acted as Rebecca in the American-Malaysian horror film Deadline - Focus Your Fear . In 2010 she played the role of Izzy in the drama Rabbit Hole . In 2011 she starred in the sports drama The Art of Winning - Moneyball . In 2013 she appeared as Jane in Woody Allen's drama Blue Jasmine .

From 2011 to 2012 she played the role of Hedy LaRue in the musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying on Broadway. For her performance, she was again nominated for a Tony Award. In 2014 she appeared as Florinda in the fantasy musical film Into the Woods . A year later she was as Eden in the horror thriller The Invitation . to see. In 2016 she took on the role of Carolyn Ford in the drama Tallulah , which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival . In 2019 Blanchard starred as Lorraine in the drama The Wonderful Mr. Rogers .
