Christoph Siegel

Christoph Siegel (* 1550 ; † May 5, 1613 in Eibenstock ) was an Electoral Saxon tithe and Freihof owner.

Life

Siegel came from a dynasty of tin smelters and hammer masters from the Saxon Ore Mountains , who also invested in the Kingdom of Bohemia . He was the son of the tithe Melchior Siegel d. Ä. After the death of his father in 1588 he was electoral tithe in Eibenstock and held this office until his death in 1613. In Eibenstock, it owned the stately middle Freihof, which was exempt from paying taxes.

He was married twice. His first wife was from 1572 the daughter of the mountain master and Annaberg mayor Hans Röhling , who died in 1609. In his second marriage, he married Regina Walter in Eibenstock in 1610. The sons Valerius († 1631), Melchior, Gabriel and Christoph came from the first marriage and the daughter Regina from the second.
