Christoph Specht (medical doctor)
Christoph Specht (born September 21, 1961 ) is a German doctor, medical journalist and filmmaker.
Life
Christoph Specht, who came from a family of doctors, studied medicine in Giessen , Frankfurt and the USA. After a research stay on magnetic resonance imaging at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland , Ohio, he studied science journalism at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz .
Specht received his doctorate in orthopedics after having previously gained experience in the medical fields of research, practice and clinics. During this time, Specht began working as a screenwriter for medical documentaries. He later directed and was responsible for the production. His films, which received a great deal of attention at international congresses, have won numerous national and international awards.
In addition to his medical studies, he later also studied tropical medicine , hygiene and public health at the University of Liverpool . Since then he has worked regularly as a doctor in Africa and is involved in the fight against HIV and tuberculosis .
Christoph Specht can be seen regularly as an interview partner on public and private television . There he explains the background to medical topics, e.g. For example, on the deaths of Michael Jackson , Steve Jobs and Whitney Houston , the health effects of the reactor disaster in Fukushima or the skiing accident of Michael Schumacher .
