Christoph Vitzthum von Eckstedt (born August 25, 1594 in Quedlinburg ; † August 29, 1653 ibid) was an Electoral Saxon civil servant.

Life

He came from the noble family Vitzthum von Eckstedt and was an electoral colonel and governor of Quedlinburg . The house of his father, Christoph Vitzthum von Eckstedt (1552–1599) , who, like him, was Colonel on Horseback and Stiftshauptmann, from 1597, has been preserved to this day. He was also a lien holder of the Sommerschenburg office and the Warberg estate. From at least 1630 he resided in the Quedlinburg City Palace .

Only a few months before his death, he acquired the three manors Tiefensee, Neuhaus and Petersroda.

His sons were Christoph , Friedrich Wilhelm, Werner and Christian Vitzthum von Eckstädt , the older one from his first marriage to Hedwig Elisabeth von Rauchhaupt and the last three from his second marriage to Sophia. Hahn originated. After the brother Werner died, the three remaining brothers agreed in 1664 on the division of the paternal inheritance.
