Christoph Waitz

Christoph Waitz (born July 24, 1960 in Heidelberg ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Orange School in Wiesbaden in 1979 , Waitz did his military service and began studying law in Heidelberg in 1980 . There he became a member of the VDSt Heidelberg . In 1987 he passed his first state examination in law . After completing the traineeship, he passed the second state examination in 1989 and 1990 as a lawyer admitted. In 1991 he moved to the legal department of a company as a lawyer. Waitz has been a managing partner of Waitz + Richter GmbH , based in Leipzig, since 1994 . From 2010 to 2016 he was Vice President of the Saxon State Authority for Private Broadcasting and New Media.

Christoph Waitz is married and has two daughters.

Waitz was chairman of the FDP district association Leipziger Land from 2004 to 2008 and was a member of the FDP regional executive committee of Saxony from 2005 to 2009 . From 2005 to 2009 he was a member of the German Bundestag in the 16th legislative period . He was spokesman for the FDP parliamentary group for media and cultural policy. For the 2017 federal election , Waitz ran as an FDP candidate in the federal constituency of North Saxony , but missed entry into the German Bundestag.
