Christoph Zarits

Christoph Zarits (born September 16, 1980 in Eisenstadt ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) and Secretary General of the Austrian Workers' Union ( ÖAAB )

Life

Christoph Zarits attended the Realgymnasium in Eisenstadt between 1991 and 1999. Between 2001 and 2009 he was an employee of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture . He then moved to ÖVP Burgenland , where he was responsible, among other things, as regional manager for northern Burgenland.

Zarits has been on the Zagersdorf municipal council since 2002 and was vice mayor from 2007 to 2018. Since 2016 he has been the district chairman of the ÖAAB in Eisenstadt and from 2014 to 2018 he was a member of the Burgenland Chamber of Labor . Since November 2017, Christoph Zarits has also been district party chairman of the ÖVP district of Eisenstadt-Umgebung.

In January 2018 he succeeded Karl Nehammer as Secretary General of the ÖAAB. In July 2019, he succeeded Johann Rädler as spokesman for expellees in the ÖVP parliamentary club .
