ÖVP parliamentary club
The ÖVP Parliamentary Club (officially Parliamentary Club of the Austrian People's Party ) has been in existence since the beginning of the XXVI. Legislative period the club with the largest number of members in the Austrian National Council . In the parliamentary elections in 2019 were on the list of short-Sebastian 71 ÖVP club members elected to the National Council. The current club chairman is August Wöginger . The incumbent President of the National Council, Wolfgang Sobotka, is also a member of the club.
Personnel
- 2017
After the constitution of the newly elected National Council on November 9, 2017, Sebastian Kurz was first elected as club chairman and Elisabeth Köstinger as president of the national council. On December 19, 2017, August Wöginger became the new chairman of the club and on December 20, Wolfgang Sobotka became the new President of the National Council.
- 2018
On September 5, 2018, Efgani Dönmez was expelled from the club, reducing the number of members from 62 to 61.
- 2019
After the National Council election in 2019 , the ÖVP Club voted before the beginning of the XXVII. Legislative period on October 22, 2019 Sebastian Kurz as club chairman. August Wöginger was appointed the first deputy club boss, Wolfgang Sobotka was nominated as President of the National Council. Peter Haubner , Georg Strasser , Michael Hammer , Elisabeth Köstinger , Angelika Winzig , Gaby Schwarz and Karl Bader were elected as further deputy chairmen .
Before the formation of the Federal Government Kurz II , August Wöginger was re-elected as club chairman on January 3, 2020.

offices
Due to the renovation of the parliament building , the offices of the MPs and the clubs are housed in two temporary buildings on Heldenplatz in Vienna . The National Council itself meets in the Great Redoutensaal in the Hofburg .
