This list of the members of the Austrian National Council (XXVII. Legislative period) lists the members of the Austrian National Council in the XXVII. Legislative period. The legislative period began with the constituent meeting of the National Council on October 23, 2019.
After the National Council election on September 29, 2019, 71 of the 183 seats went to the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), 40 to the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ), and 31 to the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ). The Greens - The Green Alternative (GRÜNE) managed to move back in and achieved 26 mandates, NEOS - The New Austria and Liberal Forum achieved 15 mandates. Peter Pilz's list is no longer represented , because it failed to enter parliament because of the four percent hurdle .
At NEOS, all previous mandataries who have also stood have qualified again for a seat in parliament, including Helmut Brandstätter and the Tyrolean Johannes Margreiter . For the SPÖ, the former federal manager Max Lercher moves into the National Council for the first time. Philippa Strache moved into the National Council as a non-attached MP on a mandate from the FPÖ and was expelled from the FPÖ on October 23, 2019.

In December 2019, the proportion of women on the National Council was 39.34% (compare proportions of women from 1918 ). The Greens have 57.7% female MPs and the SPÖ 47.5%; both benefit from the financial bonus for the first time for a 40 percent share of women. The youngest MP at the beginning of the legislative period is Yannick Shetty (NEOS), the oldest MP is Elisabeth Scheucher-Pichler (ÖVP).
Bureau
The choice of the three National Presidents took place immediately after the constitution and swearing in of the deputies in the first session on October 23, 2019. Traditionally, occupies the largest party, the position of the President, the second and each third strongest to the Second and Third NR-president.
Wolfgang Sobotka (ÖVP) was re-elected as President of the National Council with 143 of the 163 valid votes (88 percent), while Doris Bures (SPÖ) was again second President with 142 of the 171 valid votes (83 percent). Norbert Hofer succeeded Anneliese Kitzmüller (both FPÖ) as the third President of the National Council , who no longer stood as a candidate in the National Council election and left the National Council. In addition to Hofer, the Green Mandate Eva Blimlinger was also available . Hofer received 123 of the 166 valid votes and thus around 74 percent. Blimlinger received 34 votes.
The presidential conference in preparation for the constituent meeting of the newly elected National Council met on October 16, 2019. In addition to the seating plan and the size of the committees, the distribution of speaking time was determined in the context of the so-called Vienna Hour .
Parliamentary clubs
The ÖVP parliamentary club elected Sebastian Kurz as club chairman on October 22, 2019 , August Wöginger was appointed first deputy club boss , Wolfgang Sobotka was nominated as president of the National Council. Peter Haubner , Georg Strasser , Michael Hammer , Elisabeth Köstinger , Angelika Winzig , Gaby Schwarz and Karl Bader were elected as further deputy chairmen .
The Greens elected Werner Kogler as head of their parliamentary club on October 22, 2019 , while Sigrid Maurer was elected vice- head of the club and executive parliamentarian. Leonore Gewessler and Ewa Ernst-Dziedzic were further deputies . Astrid Rössler , Olga Voglauer and Jakob Schwarz were also appointed as members of the green club management, and Wolfgang Niklfeld was appointed club manager and director.
The FPÖ elected Herbert Kickl as chairman of their parliamentary club on October 22, 2019 . Norbert Hofer was nominated as a candidate for the office of third President of the National Council. The club chairman was Dagmar Belakowitsch , Susanne Fürst , Hannes Amesbauer , Erwin Angerer and Peter Wurm . The club presidium also includes Christian Hafenecker , Reinhard Bösch , Volker Reifenberger , Gerhard Kaniak and Axel Kassegger as well as Harald Vilimsky and Monika Mühlwerth . Gerhard Kaniak was appointed finance officer.
The SPÖ parliamentary club elected Pamela Rendi-Wagner as head of the club, Jörg Leichtfried was the first deputy . Gabriele Heinisch-Hosek , Andreas Kollross , Philip Kucher , Andrea Kuntzl and Alois Stöger were elected as further deputy club chairmen . Further members of the club presidium were Korinna Schumann , Elisabeth Grimling and Andreas Schieder . Involved members are Doris Bures , Markus Vogl , Christian Deutsch and the club directors. Doris Bures was nominated as the candidate of the SPÖ for the office of Second President of the National Council.
The NEOS Parliamentary Club elected Beate Meinl-Reisinger as their chairwoman on October 23, 2019, and Gerald Loacker and Nikolaus Scherak as their deputies. Michael Bernhard remained financial advisor .
After the formation of a government in Austria in 2019 and the swearing-in of the Federal Government Kurz II on January 7, 2020, Sigrid Maurer was elected as the successor to the recently sworn Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler as the Greens' club chairwoman. The ÖVP parliamentary club elected August Wöginger as club chairman on January 3, 2020, succeeding Sebastian Kurz , who had led the ÖVP parliamentary club on an interim basis for the duration of the formation of the government.
