Margarete Schramböck
Margarete Schramböck (born May 12, 1970 in St. Johann in Tirol ) is an Austrian manager and politician ( ÖVP ). From May 2016 to October 2017 she was Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of A1 Telekom Austria . From January 8, 2018 to June 3, 2019, she was Federal Minister for Digitization and Business Location of the Republic of Austria . Since January 7, 2020 she has held the office again as a member of the Federal Government Brief II . She has been a member of the National Council since October 23, 2019 .
Life
Education
Margarete Schramböck studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration from 1989 after attending the federal high school in St. Johann in Tirol, completing her master's degree in 1994. In 1997 she did her doctorate there with a dissertation on management consulting . She then studied at the University of Lyon , completing her degree in 1999 as a Master of Business Administration (MBA).

From 1995 she worked for Alcatel in various functions, for example as an internal auditor for Central and Eastern Europe and as head of the technical departments and sales. With the establishment of NextiraOne in 2002, she took over the management of NextiraOne in Austria. From December 2008 to December 2011 she was also head of NextiraOne Germany. After the takeover of the company by Dimension Data in 2014, she acted as Managing Director of Dimension Data Austria.
On May 1, 2016, she took over the management of A1 Telekom Austria , succeeding Alejandro Plater, who had succeeded Hannes Ametsreiter on an interim basis .
