Friedrich Stockinger
Friedrich "Fritz" Stockinger (born September 22, 1894 in Vienna , Austria ; † August 20, 1968 in Toronto , Canada ) was an Austrian politician ( CS / VF ).
Life
Fritz Stockinger belonged to the Christian Social Party (CS) , with the incorporation of the CS in 1934 he became a member of the Fatherland Front (VF) .
He was Federal Minister for Trade and Transport in the Dollfuss government from May 10, 1933 to November 3, 1936 . He was replaced by Wilhelm Taucher when the new government was formed on November 3, 1936 .
Fritz Stockinger was a personal friend of Engelbert Dollfuss . Dollfuss, who was in Italy to sign the Roman Protocols , authorized Stockinger to negotiate with the moderate National Socialist Anton Reithmüller in order to clarify the tense political situation in spring 1934.
From 1936 to 1938 he was President of the Administrative Commission of the Austrian Federal Railways and emigrated to Canada in 1938, where he unofficially represented Austrian interests during the Second World War. In 1955 he became the Austrian trade delegate in Canada.
He was a member of the Catholic student union K.Ö.HV Franco-Bavaria Vienna in the ÖCV , whose Philistine Senior from 1934 until its dissolution in 1938.
