Hermann Oh

Hermann Ach (* July 21, 1880 as Hermann Ach Edler von Jähnstein in St. Johann am Steinfelde ; † September 20, 1953 in Vienna ) was an Austrian civil servant and politician who was close to the home block.

Youth and education

Hermann Ach came from an old Viennese family. He studied law at the University of Vienna , where he also received his doctorate . In 1908 he married Charlotte Claricini von Dornpacher, and the marriage did not result in any children. Ach was a member of the German-Austrian Alpine Club .

Civil service career

From 1904 he worked in the political administration of the Lieutenancy in Trieste as a concept intern. In 1912 he was appointed to the Federal Ministry of the Interior , where he was employed in the administrative police service and later in the state police . In the First Republic he was taken on as Deputy Ministerial Secretary in 1918 and appointed Ministerial Councilor in 1922. 1927–1932 he was State Commissioner at Postkarten Industrie AG . From January 1, 1930 to May 20, 1932 he was also head of the gendarmerie department of the Federal Chancellery . As a civil servant he was on leave from 1932-1935 with full pay, on April 2, 1935 he was appointed section head . According to his own statements (in his Gau-Akt ), he was punished for retirement on July 1, 1935 for favoring illegal National Socialists .

Political function

From May 20, 1932 to September 28, 1932, in the Federal Government of Dollfuss I , he was the Federal Minister in the Federal Chancellery with the objective management of public security matters.

During the time of the corporate state , Ach joined the Fatherland Front and was chairman of the codification commission from 1934–1938.
