Franz Winkler (born March 20, 1890 in Zwickau in Bohemia , † October 16, 1945 in Graz ) was an Austrian politician ( Landbund ).

Franz Winkler worked as an estate official in Bohemia, then as an official in Tyrol and Styria . He was a member of the Styrian state parliament and a member of the Styrian state government. From 1932 he was Reich Party Chairman of the Landbund.

From 1930 to 1934 Winkler was a member of the National Council . From 1930 to 1933 he held the office of Federal Minister for Internal Affairs. In 1933 he broke with Dollfuss . In 1934 he fled to Czechoslovakia and conspired with the NSDAP as part of the July coup in order to regain political influence in Austria. After the “ Anschluss ” he returned to Austria.
