Ines Stilling (born August 10, 1976 in Graz ) is a top Austrian civil servant. She was Federal Minister for Women, Families and Youth in the Federal Chancellery . Since June 2020 she has been Secretary General at the Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection .

Life

Ines Stilling studied law at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz , where she completed her studies with a Master's degree.

From 2000 to 2001 she completed the court year in the district of the Graz Higher Regional Court. Afterwards, the lawyer was head of the personnel administration and controlling department in an international trading group. In 2003 she moved to the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees in Vienna as a consultant in the labor law department with a focus on maternity protection and childcare allowance .

From 2007 to 2008 Ines Stilling was a specialist in the field of labor market and reconciliation in the office of the Federal Minister for Women, Media and Public Service in the Federal Chancellery Doris Bures . From 2008 to 2009 she came to the office of the Federal Minister for Women and the Public Service in the Federal Chancellery, Gabriele Heinisch-Hosek , as a specialist in the field of labor market and compatibility . From 2009 to 2011 she was promoted to office manager there.

By 2012, she was head of section and head of the Section II (Women's Affairs and Gender Equality) in the Federal Chancellery of Chancellor Werner Faymann .

On June 3, 2019, she was sworn in as Federal Minister without portfolio and designated Minister for Women in the Bierlein Federal Government, and by the Federal President on June 5, 2019 as Federal Minister in the Federal Chancellery , with which, with effect from June 5, the Federal Chancellery for women, families and Youth were transferred.

At the beginning of June 2020 she succeeded Stefan Wallner as Secretary General in the Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection .
