Sonja Stiegelbauer (until June 17, 1998 Moser , until June 24, 2004 Moser-Starrach , born September 23, 1946 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Sonja Stiegelbauer graduated from the teacher training institute from 1961 to 1966. She worked as a primary and secondary school teacher until 1994 . In 1994 she completed her resumed studies in history and philosophy with a doctorate (Dr. phil.).

The National Council election in Austria in 1995 had to be repeated in Reutte because of them. Although she did not appear on the electoral roll, the polling officer there allowed her to cast her vote. Thereupon the election was contested by the FPÖ , and the federal electoral authority ordered a re-election. This caused (in addition to a repetition, so to speak, in Donnerskirchen ) that the ÖVP lost a mandate to the FPÖ. She had announced the resignation of her mandate should she be responsible for the loss; but since Donnerskirchen alone would have been decisive for the loss of mandate, she withdrew the announcement. Instead, the ÖVP withdrew Alfred Brader 's mandate.

From 1995 to 1996 she was Federal Minister for Families and Youth , from 1996 to 1999 a member of the National Council . Since 2000, as an envoy of the Council of Europe, she has been “Head of Bosnia-Herzegovina”.
