Andreas Staribacher (born January 7, 1957 in Vienna ) is an Austrian lawyer and auditor as well as a former politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

Andreas Staribacher was born as the son of Josef Staribacher , 1970–1983 Minister of Commerce, and the younger brother of Wolfgang Staribacher . Initially he worked in the banking sector and later in an auditing firm. From 1984, he set out as a tax consultant and auditor independently .

In April 1995 Franz Vranitzky brought Staribacher into the government as Federal Minister of Finance . After the federal government Vranitzky IV , an SPÖ-ÖVP coalition, failed at the end of 1995, particularly because of the preparation of the budget, Staribacher resigned from office on January 3, 1996.

Staribacher then worked again as a tax advisor and accountant and was, among other things, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Flughafen Wien AG . Since December 2003 Staribacher, who can look back on more than 20 years of flight experience, has also been the captain for the airline " Niki ".

He is the majority shareholder of "Labor Pool" Personalleasing GmbH, the temporary employment agency of Air Berlin subsidiary " Niki ".

Staribacher is chairman of the political think tank "Working Group for Scientific Economic Policy" (WIWIPOL).
