Viktor Kienböck
Viktor Kienböck (born January 18, 1873 in Vienna ; † November 23, 1956 there ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician ( Christian Social Party ).
Life
Viktor Kienböck completed his Matura Schottengymnasium in Vienna to study law at the University of Vienna (Dr. iur. 1896). He had one of his first appearances as a lawyer in February 1901, when he lost a trial against Hermann Bahr and Emerich von Bukovics as defender of Karl Kraus .
From December 1, 1920 to November 13, 1923, Kienböck was a member of the Bundesrat (first legislative period ) for Vienna, and from November 20, 1923 to February 7, 1932, he was a member of the National Council ( second , third and fourth legislative period) ). He was also a member of the Provisional Council of the City of Vienna from December 3, 1918 to May 22, 1919 , from May 22, 1919 to November 10, 1920, a member of the Vienna City Council, and then until November 13, 1923, a member of the Vienna City Council Parliament and member of the Vienna City Council (1st electoral period) .
In 1922 Kienböck became a member of the Christian Social Party and in the same year took over the post of finance minister , which he held until 1924 and again between 1926 and 1929. With the introduction of the League of Nations loan in 1922, he made a significant contribution to restructuring the state budget. In 1932 he took over the post of President of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank , which he held until 1938. In addition, he represented Austria's interests at international conferences and from 1937–38 in the Finance Committee of the League of Nations. 1952–1956 he was again Vice President of the National Bank.
After his death he was buried at the Dornbacher Friedhof .
