Rudolf Buchinger

Rudolf Buchinger (born March 7, 1879 in Staasdorf , Lower Austria ; † February 20, 1950 in Tulln an der Donau ) was an Austrian politician ( CS , ÖVP ).

Live and act

Buchinger was a member of the Constituent National Assembly from March 4, 1919 to November 9, 1920 , after which he was a member of the National Council of the Christian Social Party for ten years (November 10, 1920 - October 1, 1930) . From May 31, 1922 to January 15, 1926 he was in the Seipel I Federal Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and from May 1922 to April 1923 he was entrusted with the management of the Federal Ministry for National Nutrition.

In November 1934 Buchinger was a member of the Federal Economic Council and from June 20, 1936 a member of the State Council until he was relieved of all functions in March 1938 and imprisoned for a short time. In 1944 he was again arrested by the Gestapo . After the Second World War he was the first State Secretary for Agriculture and Forestry in 1945.

Buchinger was an economist and Dr. hc He is buried in Tulln.

Since 1929 he was a member of the KDB Rheno-Danubia in Vienna in the RKDB (later CAB Rheno-Danubia in Vienna in the RKAB ).
