Ludwig Paul

Ludwig Paul (born September 16, 1864 in Vienna ; † July 1, 1920 ibid) was an Austrian politician and lawyer .

Life

Ludwig Paul studied law at the University of Vienna from 1884 to 1889 , followed by a year of philosophy . In 1890 he became a civil servant with the Vienna tram . After successfully passing the last state examination in 1898, Paul got a job in 1901 in the kk Railway Ministry , which is now the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology . Here he was primarily responsible for human resources and was also involved in trade unions .

In 1909 Paul was appointed deputy director of the Austrian State Railways , which was directly subordinate to the Ministry , but was transferred back to the Ministry of Railways after the start of the First World War . By organizing food rations for the employees of the railway, he showed his organizational talent even in difficult times.

After he had been appointed head of the Office for People's Nutrition (formally minister without portfolio ) in kk  governments from February 26, 1918 ( Seidler , from July 25, 1918 Hussarek von Heinlein , last until November 11, 1918 in the Lammasch Ministry ), Paul became elected State Secretary for Transport (Minister of Transport) in the Renner II state government on March 15, 1919, and in the Renner III state government on October 17, 1919 , an office he held until his death.
