Savanté Stringfellow (born June 11, 1978 in Jackson , Michigan ) is an American long jumper .
Sporting successes
Stringfellow took part in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , but missed the final in ninth place.
The following year he won the silver medal with 8.24 m at the World Championships in Edmonton behind Iván Pedroso . At the 2003 World Championships in Paris , Stringfellow came 8th without a medal. In 2004 he was world champion with 8.40 m at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest .
From 2000 to 2004 Stringfellew was national indoor champion in the long jump, in 2001 and 2002 he also won the national outdoor championships.

Stringfellow was the world's best long jumper in 2002. His best performances in the high jump (2.14 m) and in the 200-meter run (20.66 s) show him as a versatile athlete.
