Karl Pesta

Karl Pesta (born November 15, 1871 in Hard , Vorarlberg ; † December 3, 1945 in Innsbruck , Tyrol ) was an Austrian politician .

Life

Karl Pesta was born the son of a railway engineer and studied at the Innsbruck University Law , where he in 1892 a member of the fraternity Germania Innsbruck was. He received his doctorate in 1894 and then entered the service of the Austrian State Railways . In 1896 he became a draftsman in the railway directorate in Innsbruck and in 1899 was transferred to Vienna , to the railway ministry there, the forerunner of today's Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology . Pesta was appointed Ministerial Councilor in 1914 and was promoted to Section Head in 1920 .

On July 7, 1920, Pesta was elected State Secretary (= Minister) for Transport in the Mayr I state government , then appointed Minister of Transport of the Republic from November 20, 1920 in the Mayr II government. Again, he only had a short term in office and chaired the department from November 20, 1920 to June 21, 1921. He retired in 1923.

Nothing is known about his life thereafter.
