Federal Government Seipel I
The Federal Government Seipel I (May 31, 1922 - April 16, 1923), elected by the National Council on May 31, 1922 , succeeded the Schober II Federal Government . With 159 votes cast, the Christian Social Greater German government was elected with 101 votes in favor against 58 votes against by the Social Democrats . The Greater Germans did not vote for the Schober II cabinet in protest against Schober's foreign policy and only tolerated it; now they formed a coalition with the Christian Socials. Its chairman since 1921 and pioneer Ignaz Seipel , Catholic prelate , took over the office of Federal Chancellor himself.
The federal government Seipel II followed after the government was reshuffled .
