The provisional federal government of Löger was the federal government of the Republic of Austria from May 28, 2019 to June 3, 2019 . It was largely identical to the Federal Government Kurz I , which the National Council refused to trust on May 27, 2019 , and which was therefore removed from office by Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen . Until a new government was formed, the members of the previous federal government were entrusted with continuing the administration in accordance with Art. 71 B-VG . Since Sebastian Kurz no longer was available, the finance minister and a few days previously as Vice-Chancellor sworn in Hartwig Löger by the Federal President with the Presidency in the federal government, without appointment of a new vice-chancellor, entrusted and interim chancellor. The last remaining State Secretary of the Federal Government, Kurz I, resigned from her post when the interim government was sworn in.
On May 30, Van der Bellen commissioned Brigitte Bierlein , who was then President of the Constitutional Court , to form a government. The Bierlein Federal Government formed by it was appointed and sworn in by the Federal President on June 3, 2019.
Government members
The provisional federal government of Löger was composed of the cabinet of the federal government Kurz I , which was reorganized on May 22, 2019 , but without the resigned and thus former Federal Chancellor Kurz and without the last State Secretary who remained in the Kurz I government.
