Robert Laimer

Robert Laimer (born August 3, 1966 in St. Pölten , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). He was sworn in as a member of the National Council on November 9, 2017 .

Life

After completing elementary and secondary school, Robert Laimer attended business school in St. Pölten. After completing military service , he was employed by the Lower Austrian Regional Health Insurance Fund from 1984 to 2003 , where he worked as a project manager in public relations and from 1988 as a works council . In 2003 he succeeded Anton Heinzl as district manager of the SPÖ St. Pölten. From 2013 to 2017, together with Reinhard Hundsmüller, he was regional manager of the SPÖ Lower Austria , after Laimer's move to the National Council, Hundsmüller became sole regional manager.

From 1999 to 2003 he was regional chairman of the young generation in Lower Austria. From 2001 to 2005 he was a member of the local council in St. Pölten, where he was a councilor from 2005. Harald Ludwig succeeded him as city councilor on February 26, 2018. In the 2017 National Council election , he ran for the Lower Austria Central regional constituency , and on November 9, 2017, he was sworn in as a member of the National Council . In the XXVI. During the legislative period , he was a member of the standing subcommittee on ESM matters, the incompatibility committee, the committee on petitions and citizens' initiatives and the environment committee. In the 27th legislative period , he acts in the SPÖ parliamentary club as area spokesman for national defense.
