Eva Maria Holzleitner (born May 5, 1993 in Wels ) is an Austrian politician of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ). She was sworn in as a member of the National Council on November 9, 2017 .

Life

Eva Maria Holzleitner attended the Brucknergymnasium in Wels from 2003 , where she acted as deputy head teacher in the 2009/10 school year and graduated in 2011 . She then began studying social economics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU). In 2016 she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree and began a master's degree. Alongside her studies, she was a study assistant at the JKU until February 2016, and since September 2015 she has been working at the Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences as an assistant in the HEAL ( heuristic and evolutionary algorithms laboratory ) research group.

During her school days she became a member of the SPÖ-affiliated Action Critical Students (AKS), and has been a member of the SPÖ since 2012. In Wels she is a member of the SPÖ's city party executive. In 2016 she became regional chairwoman of the young generation of the SPÖ Upper Austria . In the 2017 National Council election , she ran for Alois Stöger on the SPÖ state list in second place. On November 9, 2017, she was sworn in as a member of the Austrian National Council. In the 2019 National Council election, she is running again behind Alois Stöger in second place in the list in the Upper Austrian electoral district .

In the SPÖ parliamentary club , she acts as the area spokesperson for the areas of children and youth in the 26th and 27th legislative period . In addition to Kai Jan Krainer and Christoph Matznetter , she became a member of the SPÖ delegation of the committee of inquiry established in January 2020 into the alleged buyability of the turquoise-blue federal government ( Ibiza committee of inquiry).
