Andrea Kuntzl (born March 31, 1958 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician and sociologist with leading positions in the SPÖ . She has been a member of the National Council since 1999 .

Life

After attending a modern-language grammar school (1968–72), she moved to the Vienna Commercial Academy , where she graduated in 1977. She then studied sociology at the University of Vienna and graduated in 1994 as a Mag. Rer. soc. oec. from. At the same time she worked as head of the social democratic future and culture workshop ( ZuK ) 1992–1996 and in the younger generation , where she acted as regional director and deputy federal director from 1988–91 .

Her actual political career began Kuntzl as federal women secretary of the SPÖ 1996-2000 and then as federal manager (corresponding to a general secretary of the party) until 2003 under the party leader Alfred Gusenbauer .

Since 1991 she has been a member of the Federal Women's Committee of the SPÖ and since 1996 of the Federal Party Executive Committee of the SPÖ. As a member of the National Council (since 1999), she mainly deals with social and family policy , is a member of the main committee and was deputy chairman of the family and culture committee from 2003-06 .

Her former partner is the constitutional judge Johannes Schnizer .
