Vladimir Mikhailovich Deschewow
Vladimir Michailowitsch Deschewow ; Russian Владимир Михайлович Дешевов (born February 11, 1889 in Saint Petersburg , † 1955 in Leningrad ) was a Russian composer .
Life
Vladimir Deschewow was a student of Anatoli Lyadow and Maximilian Steinberg . He was a teacher in Sevastopol from 1920 to 1923 . He then worked as a teacher at various music schools and music director at several theaters in Leningrad. He wrote ballets, drama and film music. His only opera Eis und Stahl from 1929 about the early years of the Soviet Union and the Kronstadt Sailors' Uprising was performed in Saarbrücken in 2007 after a long break .
