Anneliese Römer

Anneliese Römer (born June 24, 1922 in Leipzig , † November 25, 2003 in Berlin ) was a German actress .

Life

She received her training at the Westphalian Drama School in Bochum with Saladin Schmitt . In 1939 she made her debut as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . From 1942 to 1944 she worked at the Munster Municipal Theaters and from 1945 to 1947 at the New Theater in Stuttgart.

At the Schauspielhaus Zürich , where she was on stage from 1947 to 1951, she embodied Jessica in Sartre's Die Dirty Hands , Ines in his Beyond Closed Doors , Polly Peachum in Bertolt Brecht's Die Dreigroschenoper and Elvira in Molière's Don Juan . From 1953 to 1956 she was on stage at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, from 1956 to 1967 she was a member of the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin . Her roles here included Ranewskaya in The Cherry Orchard (1961) and Olivia in Was ihr wollt (1962).

In 1968 she worked at the Volksbühne and from 1974 to 1977 at the Stuttgart State Theater . There she could be seen as Marthe Schwerdtlein in Faust and as Ms. von Stein in Peter Hack's monogy “A conversation in the Stein house about the absent Herr von Goethe”. In 1977 she moved to the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt , in 1979 she returned to the Schauspielhaus Bochum, where she stayed until 1986. Here she embodied Daja in Nathan the Wise , Paulina in A Winter's Tale , Toinette in The Imaginary Sick and 1984 Winnie in Beckett's Happy Days .

In 1986 she came to the Vienna Burgtheater , where she performed as Ms. Zittel in the world premiere of Bernhard's Heldenplatz in 1988 . In 1992 she returned to the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin. There she was Claire Zachanassian in The Visit of the Old Lady and 1995 in the Queen Margaret Palace Park Theater in Richard III. .

The state actress Anneliese Römer was rarely seen in film and television . In 1948 she stood in front of the camera together with Heinz Rühmann in Der Herr vom Another Stern , directed by Heinz Hilpert . Occasionally she also worked as a voice actress, so she lent z. B. the actress Kate Reid as Dr. Ruth Leavitt her voice in the science fiction drama Andromeda - Deadly Dust from Space .

Römer was married to actor and director Harry Meyen from 1953 until their divorce in 1966 . Her grave is in Berlin in the Dahlem cemetery .
