Werner Saxinger

Werner Saxinger (born February 22, 1966 in Grieskirchen , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian dermatologist , venereologist and politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). He has been a member of the National Council since April 1, 2020 .

Life

Werner Saxinger attended elementary school in Linz at the Aloisianum high school , where he graduated in 1984 . He then began studying human medicine at the University of Vienna , where he received his doctorate in medicine in 1992 . After that he did military service . From 1993 to 1996 he trained as a general practitioner at the Wels Clinic and at the Linz State Women's Clinic, followed by training as a specialist in dermatology at the Wels Clinic until 2002 . In 2007/08 he completed a master’s degree in health management at Danube University Krems , which he completed as a Master of Science .

Since 2002 he has been a specialist in dermatology and venereology , in 2003 he was appointed senior physician, and in 2005 he became a specialist in angiology . Since February 2009 he has been head of the dermatology and venereology department at the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic , and in 2019 he was appointed Medical Councilor. Saxinger is the primary physician representative of the Upper Austrian Medical Association , member of the board of the Upper Austrian Cancer Aid and since January 2019 a member of the Upper Austrian Provincial Sanitary Council . From 2014 to 2019 he was chairman of the Austrian Society for Dermatosurgery (ÖGDC), whose deputy chairman he had previously been from 2011.

politics

Saxinger ran for the ÖVP in the 2017 National Council election in 15th place on the federal list and 19th in the Upper Austrian electoral district . In the 2019 National Council election he was ranked 19th on the ÖVP federal list and 13th in the Upper Austrian electoral district. On April 3, 2020 he was in the XXVII. Legislative period sworn in as a member of the Austrian National Council . He replaced Josef Moser , who left parliament, and after Martina Ess Moser's resignation , he took over from the federal list.
