Felix Eypeltauer

Felix Eypeltauer (born July 3, 1992 in Linz ) is an Austrian politician ( NEOS ). Eypeltauer has been a member of the National Council since October 2019 . From 2015 to July 2, 2020 he was councilor of the city of Linz.

Life

Felix Eypeltauer's great-grandfather, Ernst Koref , was the first mayor of Linz after the Second World War ; his grandmother, Beatrix Eypeltauer, was a national councilor and state secretary in the 1970s and 1980s .

Felix Eypeltauer grew up in Linz; here he graduated from elementary school from 1998 to 2002 . After graduating from the Academic Gymnasium , which he obtained in 2010, he studied law at the University of Linz until 2016 .

In the 2013 ÖH elections, he ran as the top candidate of the VSStÖ to represent law students at Johannes Kepler University. In 2014 he joined the JUNOS - Young Liberal NEOS and held functions as a member of the Upper Austrian provincial board and as Upper Austrian provincial chairman until 2017. In November 2017, the Federal Congress of Young Liberals, NEOS - JUNOS, elected him to the national board member for programming. He devoted his term of office to environmental, climate and European policy.

In 2015, Felix Eypeltauer moved into the Linz municipal council for NEOS , where, among other things, he chairs the control committee. A year later he began to work as a consultant for justice, home affairs, consumer protection, buildings and housing in the NEOS parliamentary club .

After the Salzburg state election in 2018 , Eypeltauer was involved in the coalition negotiations between NEOS Salzburg and ÖVP Salzburg and the GREEN Salzburg . With June 2018 Eypeltauer worked as head of cabinet of the Salzburg state councilor for housing, child care, science, integration, women, youth & generations, families, adult education and public libraries, Andrea Klambauer . He held this position until October 2019.

After the National Council election in 2019 , Felix Eypeltauer was sworn in as a member of the National Council.

In November 2019, the Upper Austrian state assembly of NEOS elected him as state spokesman.

Eypeltauer lives in Linz and Vienna.
