Nicolaus Ehrenreich Anton Schmid (also: Nikolaus Ehrenreich Anton Schmid and Nikolaus Ehrenreich Schmid and Nicolaus Schmid ; born August 4, 1717 in Lüneburg , † February 6, 1785 in Hanover ) was a German goldsmith , mechanic and author .

Life

Nicolaus Ehrenreich Anton Schmid, born during the personal union between Great Britain and Hanover in the Electorate of Braunschweig-Lüneburg , ran a goldsmith shop in Hanover from 1748 to 1770. At the same time he worked as a mechanic and manufactured particularly popular burning mirrors and magnets .

Schmid wrote both bound writings, some of which appeared in several editions, but also essays, for example in the Hanoverian magazine .
