Heike Grebien

Heike Grebien (born July 31, 1987 in Wagna , Styria ) is an Austrian politician from the Greens . She has been a member of the National Council since January 9, 2020 .

Life

After primary school, Heike Grebien attended the Bundesgymnasium and Bundesrealgymnasium (BG / BRG) in Leibnitz , where she graduated in 2005 . In 2007 she completed the two-year college for tourism organizations at the Salzburg tourism schools in Kleßheim . In 2014 she began studying education and training at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz , which she completed in 2017 as a Bachelor of Arts . Then she started a master’s degree in interdisciplinary gender studies at the University of Graz. From 2012 to 2014 she worked at Weitzer Hotels Betriebsgesmbh , from 2016 to 2018 at alpha nova Betriebsgesellschaft .

From 2017 to 2019 she was involved in the Association for Women's and Equal Opportunities Policy in Austria for the Women's Referendum 2.0 and acted as the spokesperson for the women's referendum for Styria. In 2018 she worked in the Department of Women and Equality of the City of Graz , in 2019 she was project manager of the campaign for Styria for the Women's Action Forum in Graz.

In the 2019 National Council election, she ran for the Greens in fourth place in the Styrian electoral district and in the Graz and environs regional constituency . On January 10, 2020 she was in the XXVII. Legislative period as a member of the Austrian National Council , where she was deputy chairman in the tourism committee and member of the Ombudsman Committee. She replaced Werner Kogler , who moved to the Federal Government Kurz II , and took over his mandate in the regional constituency of Graz and the surrounding area. In the Green Parliamentary Club , she became the area spokesperson for people with disabilities.
