Green Parliament Club

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Green Parliament Club (officially Green Club in Parliament ) is the club of the party The Greens - The Green Alternative in the Austrian National Council .

Freda Meissner-Blau was the first chairwoman of the Green Club from 1986 to 1988 . In the following two years Andreas Wabl was club chairman. In 1990 Johannes Voggenhuber became chairman of the Green Parliamentary Club. From 1992 to 1999 Madeleine Petrovic was the club chairwoman. After that, Alexander Van der Bellen was elected club chairman. On October 24, 2008, Eva Glawischnig took over as Van der Bellen's new club chairwoman. After her resignation in May 2017, Albert Steinhauser became club chairman. After returning to the National Council, the club members of the Greens unanimously elected Werner Kogler as club chairman on October 22, 2019 . Because Kogler became Vice Chancellor when the Federal Government was formed, the club members elected Sigrid Maurer as the new club chairwoman on January 7, 2020 .

offices

Until 2017, the Green Parliament Club was housed on two floors at Löwelstraße 12. When they returned to Parliament in 2019, one of these two floors was occupied by the NEOS club.
