Nina Tomaselli (born April 16, 1985 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian politician ( GREEN ). Tomaselli has been a member of the Austrian National Council since 2019 and was previously a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament from 2014 to 2019 . Since 2018 she has also been a member of the federal executive committee of the Greens and since 2019 its deputy federal spokeswoman. She lives in Feldkirch.

Professional and political career

Nina Tomaselli graduated from the college for business professions in Rankweil and then studied economics, history and business education at the University of Innsbruck . In 2014 she started the PhD program in Economics at the Universities of Innsbruck and Linz. Tomaselli gained professional experience as an employee in construction project management, in sales controlling and at the Institute for Economic Theory at the University of Innsbruck.

In 2010 she was involved in the founding of the community group of the Greens in Frastanz and moved into the community council as a Green member in the local council election in 2010 . Since 2014 she has been a member of the state executive committee of the Greens Vorarlberg and a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament. She was the area spokesperson for the topics of finance, spatial planning, building / housing, youth, animal welfare, culture, communities / community cooperation, democracy / citizen participation, media and the audit office in the Green Parliamentary Club. Because of their preference votes result Tomaselli was in 2015 in the local council elections voted in Feldkirch for the Greens as a member of the Local Board.

In November 2018 she was elected to the federal executive board at the Federal Congress of the Greens. At its meeting on February 1, 2019, the extended federal board made Nina Tomaselli one of two deputies for federal spokesman Werner Kogler . After the club chairman of the Green State Parliament Club, Adi Gross , announced in April 2019 that he no longer wanted to run for the 2019 state election and would withdraw from the state parliament for health reasons, Nina Tomaselli took over its duties as deputy club chairwoman on an interim basis until the end of the legislative period.

In the run-up to the National Council elections in Austria 2019 , Nina Tomaselli was nominated on June 26, 2019 by the regional assembly of the Vorarlberg Greens as their top candidate and first on the national list for the National Council election. In the election, Tomaselli achieved a basic mandate in the Vorarlberg state electoral district and was thus in the constituent meeting of the National Council of the XXVII. Legislative period on October 23, 2019 as a member of parliament.
