Hermann Brückl (born November 3, 1968 in Schärding ) is an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and Rechtspfleger. He has been a member of the Austrian National Council since 2015 . Prior to that, Brückl was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 2010 to 2015 from the federal state of Upper Austria .

education and profession

Brückl attended elementary school in Andorf from 1975 to 1979 and then attended grammar school in Schärding and Ried im Innkreis from 1979 to 1984 . He then graduated from the commercial academy in Schärding from 1984 to 1987 and then switched to the commercial school in Schärding from 1987 to 1988. He then did military service from 1988 to 1989 and was employed as a regular soldier in 1989 . Brückl then worked as a commercial clerk from 1989 to 1997 and, in addition to his job, completed the evening school of the commercial academy for employed people in Wels from 1995 to 1998. He then worked as a bailiff at the Schärding District Court between 1997 and 2001 and was employed in the office from 2001. After completing his apprenticeship as a senior clerk in 2005 with a diploma, he has been working as senior clerk and head of the office at the District Court of Schärding since 2005.

Politics and functions

Brückl was a member of the municipality of Andorf from 2000 to 2003 and during this time acted as chairman of the committee for economic affairs and tourism. On the other hand, he had his first political experience from 1989 to 1995 as district chairman of the Ring of Freedom Youth in the Schärding district, where he was also regional chairman of the Ring of Freedom Youth in Upper Austria. He was also district party chairman of the FPÖ Schärding from 1992 to 2002 and was elected district party chairman of the FPÖ Schärding in 2002. He has also been a member of the regional party board of the FPÖ Upper Austria since 2002 and also became a member of the finance committee of the FPÖ Upper Austria that year. Furthermore, from 2002 to 2005 he was a member of the FPÖ federal party leadership, of which he has been a member since 2009. Brückl succeeded Elmar Podgorschek as Upper Austrian member of the Federal Council on October 20, 2010 .

After Podgorschek had also left the National Council to become a member of the Upper Austrian provincial government, Brückl moved up again on October 28, 2015. He was sworn in in the National Council on the FPÖ mandate in the regional constituency of Innviertel . At the same time he left the Chamber of States.

Brückl became secretary of the house association Scardonia in 2006 and in March 2011 took over the function of chairman of the dutiful Pennal fraternity Scardonia.

Private

Brückl is the father of a son.
