Peter Wurm (born February 23, 1965 in Hall in Tirol ) is a politician of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) and an entrepreneur . He has been a member of the Austrian National Council since 2013 .

Wurm attended the elementary school in Hall in Tirol between 1971 and 1975 and then switched to the integrated comprehensive school in Hall in Tirol from 1975 to 1979. He then attended the commercial academy from 1979 to 1984, where he graduated from high school. He did his military service with the 61st Landwehr Tribe Regiment. From 1985 to 1987, Wurm worked as a dispatcher at Tyrolean Airways . He then worked from 1987 to 1989 as assistant director at Vinorama / Morandell and then changed from 1989 to 1994 to the position of area sales manager for Eastern Austria for Morandell. He then worked for the Stiegl Brewery between 1994 , where he was Sales Manager National Gastronomy from 1994 to 1995 and then until 1999 as the Gastronomy Division Manager. From 1998 to 2005 he was a partner in Moser Sonnenschutz GmbH. Wurm has been a 29 percent partner in Seagull Trading GmbH since 2003, 50 percent partner and managing director of Oscar Solutions GmbH since 2006 and partner and managing director of SPAK Handels GmbH since 2007. Furthermore, Wurm has been a fully liable partner of Wurm Immobilienverwaltung OG since February 2013.

Politics and functions

Wurm has been a member of the municipal council of the municipality of Mils bei Hall since 2004 and has been active within the party since 2008 as a member of the regional party presidium of the FPÖ Tirol. In 2008 he also became a member of the regional party board of the FPÖ Tirol and state finance officer of the FPÖ Tirol. In 2010 he was elected district party chairman of the FPÖ Innsbruck-Land and local party chairman of the FPÖ Mils. Since 2009 he has also been a member of the Tyrolean Food Trade Committee of the Tyrol Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Economic Parliament of the Tyrol Chamber of Commerce. Wurm ran for the 2013 National Council election and won a mandate from the Innsbruck-Land regional constituency . He was sworn in as a member of parliament on October 29, 2013 and has been the consumer protection spokesman for the liberal parliamentary club since October 2014. In the course of the 2016 municipal council elections, the FPÖ in Mils, under the leadership of Peter Wurm, was able to triple its mandates, which means that he is now also represented on the council of his home parish.
