Elisabeth Scheucher-Pichler

Elisabeth Scheucher-Pichler (born February 28, 1954 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and politician ( ÖVP ). From 2002 to 2006 she was a member of the National Council and has been a member again since October 23, 2019.

education and profession

Scheucher-Pichler attended elementary school from 1960 to 1964 and then the AHS lower level in Klagenfurt until 1969. In 1974 she passed the qualification test for kindergarten teachers and in 1993 she graduated from the Federal Institute for Kindergarten Education . In 1997 Scheucher-Pichler completed the university course “Psychotherapeutic Propaedeutics” and studied pedagogy and the basics of psychology and psychosocial practice at the University of Klagenfurt . Her family runs a handicraft shop in Klagenfurt. Scheucher-Pichler has been a psychotherapist since 2000 and has its own practice in Klagenfurt for systemic therapy, counseling and support.

Scheucher-Pichler was a member of the Klagenfurt municipal council from 1979 to 1991 and a member of the Carinthian state parliament from 1999 to 2002 . From December 20, 2002, she represented the ÖVP in the National Council, but left the National Council on October 29, 2006 after the 2006 National Council election .

In addition to her political mandates, Scheucher-Pichler was elected district chairman of the Austrian women's movement in Klagenfurt in 1999 and, in 2000, deputy chairman of the Carinthian Economic Association. She was a delegate to the Chamber of Commerce from 2000, was President in 1997 and since then has been Vice-President of the Austrian Aid Organization along with others .
