Andreas Kühberger

Andreas Kühberger (born April 24, 1974 in Leoben , Styria ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). Since 2010 he has been the mayor of the market town of Mautern in Styria . He was sworn in as a member of the National Council on November 9, 2017 .

Life

education and profession

Andreas Kühberger attended elementary and secondary school in Mautern in Styria from 1988 to 1992 at the Grabnerhof Agricultural College in Hall near Admont . At the same time, he completed an apprenticeship as a waiter . In 1993 he did the military service , in 1995 he completed the practical course for tourism and passed the trainer examination for apprentices and the license examination for the hospitality industry. He then worked as a commercial clerk in the automotive trade, and has been a farmer since 2006 . He has six children with his wife.

politics

From 2004 he belonged to the municipal council in Mautern in Styria , from 2005 to 2010 he was the local party chairman of the local ÖVP, and in 2010 he was elected mayor. Since 2015 he has been the district party chairman of the ÖVP in the Leoben district and is a member of the state party executive of the ÖVP Styria . In the National Council elections in 2017 and 2019 , he ran as ÖVP's top candidate for the Upper Styria regional constituency .
