Elisabeth Pfurtscheller (born March 6, 1964 in Breitenwang , Tyrol ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). She was a member of the Austrian National Council since October 2013 . She was not re-elected in the 2017 National Council election. From March to September 2018 she was a member of the Federal Council delegated by the Tyrolean state parliament . She has been a member of the National Council again since September 6, 2018.

Life

Elisabeth Pfurtscheller attended elementary school and the lower grades of grammar school , both in Reutte . From 1978 to 1981 she then attended the college for business professions in Imst . In 1981 she found work as a commercial clerk at an installation company in Reutte, where she worked until 1997. In 1997 she moved to an architectural office as head of accounting, also in Reutte. From 1996 to 2000 she attended the University of Applied Sciences in Germany Rendsburg where they Business Administration studied and the title Diplomkauffrau acquired.

Her political career began in 2006 when she was elected deputy ÖVP party leader of the Reutte municipality. In 2009, she was elected district chairwoman of the Austrian women's movement for the entire Reutte district . Just one year later, in 2010, she moved into the Reutte municipal council for the People's Party .

In October 2013 she was sworn in as a member of the National Council.

After the state elections in Tyrol in 2018 , she became a member of the Federal Council sent by the Tyrolean state parliament . In September 2018, Pfurtscheller succeeded Dominik Schrott in the National Council, Elisabeth Mattersberger took over her mandate in the Federal Council.

Elisabeth Pfurtscheller is divorced and has one son.
